
Randall Miller, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Miller served in the Coast Guard from 1969-1973. He was on the original crew of Vessel Traffic Service that controls ship traffic in San Francisco Bay. He earned his DVM from Oklahoma State University in 1980. He then served in the U.S. Army for three years as post veterinarian of the Presidio of San Francisco. In 1983, he joined a private practice. He joined Providence Veterinary Medical Group in 1993 as an associate veterinarian and is now an equal owner. He travels between both of our facilities.
Dr. Miller and his wife Catherine live in Alameda with two rescued Golden Retrievers, Lucky and Wally and three cats Ramona, Fog and Beau. Their daughter Allison lives in Charlotte, NC with her husband Thad, baby son Jack and two rescued Golden Retrievers.
In his off time, Dr. Miller enjoys swimming, biking, and collecting die-cast metal cars. He has participated in the swim from Alcatraz and the Bay to Breakers. He also tries to spend time at a family cottage in Pennsylvania when he can get away.
Marie-Anne Woolley, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Woolley received her BA degree in Biology from the University of Delaware in 1988. She graduated from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in Alabama in 1992. This is a Historical Black University located just north of the city of Montgomery. She also did an Internship in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery from 1992-1993 at Tuskegee University.
Dr. Woolley has worked in South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska in mixed animal practices and in Delaware in small animal practices. She moved from Delaware to the Bay Area five years ago. Her special interests are in surgery, dentistry, pocket pets and homeopathy.
In her "spare time" Dr. Woolley enjoys walking in the State Parks with her four-legged companion, "Payton", whom she rescued from a shelter in Delaware. Also, she enjoys cycling, playing basketball, weight lifting, reading, gardening and learning something new everyday.
Susan Chew, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Chew joined Providence Veterinary Medical Group as an Associate Veterinarian in July 2004. She earned her BA in Biochemistry from San Francisco State University and her DVM from the University of California at Davis. When asked why she became a veterinarian, Dr. Chew stated that she, "likes being around pets all the time". She especially likes internal medicine. You can see Dr. Chew at our Pacific Avenue location.
When she is not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Chew enjoys meditation, chi gung, hiking, traveling and her family’s cats. She is a member of Toastmasters and a volunteer for Fix Our Ferals, a feral cat spay/neuter program.
Celia Olson, DVM
Veterinarian
After graduating from Stanford University with a BA in Biology, Dr. Olson moved to Washington and then attended veterinary school at Washington State University. Her wide ranging interest in animals has led her to study primate behavior, participate in research projects with hyenas and horses, and practice veterinary medicine for 20 years.
Once back in the Bay Area, she joined Providence Veterinary Medical Group in June 2008. She has a particular interest in dentistry and emergency medical care.
She has two sons, one of whom is in college in San Diego and the other a junior in high school. Her personal menagerie of pets has included horses, sheep, 4-H pigs, chickens, rodents, snakes, lizards, birds and her cats, “Jerry”, “Tarzan” and dog “Musette”.
